International School of Portland is hiring for 2024 Summer Camp!

Multiple Positions- We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible, and open-minded Seasonal Part time (Chinese, Japanese, & Spanish) Summer Camp Floating Aides to join our team. Our Floating Aides are essential to the success of our busy and engaging language immersion camp. Floating Aides may assist in a variety of ways across different classrooms, organize games, cover breaks, assist with lunches, and more. Learn more about our camp at https://intlschool.org/summer/

DATES 2024:

Floating Aides may work in one, two, or all three sessions.

• Session 1 - June 24 - July 5, 2024 (No camp on July 4)
• Session 2 - July 08 - 19, 2024
• Session 3 - July 22 - August 02, 2024

(All teachers assistants must participate in training in May and/or June. When feasible, all trainings will be held virtually)

HOURS 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday-Friday (Part Time)

PAY RATE:

Floating Aide (Returning Level- II) $20.00

Floating Aide (New or Level I) $19.00

CAMP TUITION DISCOUNT: Camp staff receive a discount off of Summer Camp enrollment fees for eligible children

General Summary

A seasonal position reporting to the Summer Camp Director, Floating Aides are essential team members who ensure camp is a safe and fun environment for all campers. Floating Aides act as additional supervisors, teacher's helpers, and break coverage staff. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising children in the classroom, during recess, and on field day and field trips; assisting with set-up and take-down of camp activities and supplies; and covering classrooms during staff breaks.

Qualifications:

• Eligible to work in the USA
• Proficient in written and spoken English and the target language
• At least 1 year experience working with children, preferably in a camp or school setting
• Support the mission and vision of The International School of Portland (https://intlschool.org/)
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, responsibility, and a passion for teaching young language learners
